Warmaze: My bid for the Thousand Year Board Game Challenge

July 3, 2011

The Thousand Year Board Game Challege is a competition created by Daniel Solis to create a game that has the potential to last a thousand years. A games like Go, Chess, Poker, and Tag. For more information on the contest click here.

WarMaze is my submission to the contest, and I will post a full ruleset soon. The game has a simple mechanic with twin victory condition. Players are given 2 pieces, a princess and a predator. The princess goal is to make it to all four corners of the board, while the predator goal is to eat all opposing princesses. A block pushing mechanic adds to the tension of the game. Rounds usually take 45 minutes to an hour.
